It investigates the role played by the empathic process within digital visual media. Firstly the analysis shows the fundamental aspects of empathy. It then considers the main traditional visual reportages and compares them with the most current formats, such as interactive documentary or virtual reality. Subsequently, the study focuses on the ethical aspects and the relevant regulations governing the profession of journalism, with special attention to those who generate information through visual reportage. Finally, the talk concludes with a hypothetical project designed to verify what has emerged from the analysis, testing the empathic process on complex issues.
